Host France announced squad for the World Cup

Didier Dinart and Guillaume Gille announced their squad for the upcoming World Cup. The French coaches nominated seven players of top club Paris Saint-Germain, four are under contract at Montpellier. Three players are from foreign clubs: Cedric Sorhaindo and Timothey N`Guessan are playing for FC Barcelona in Spain, Kentin Mahè in German Bundesliga for SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

After the last test matches, at the weekend France won two matches against Slovenia with 29-28 and 33-26, Dinart and Gille decided to cross off the list four players: Cyril Dumoulin, Nicolas Claire, Dika Mem and Benoit Kounkoud. Yannis Lenne will stay with the team, he was nominated as reserve player.

Yesterday France went to Paris, with a delay of two hours due the weather conditions. Tomorrow the host will play in the French capital the opening match against Brazil, the throw off of the tournament will be at 20:45hrs. On Thursday France will travel to Nantes to play the remaining matches of the group stage against Japan, Norway, Russia and Poland.
